| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised Romanesque temple or church facade is depicted in the centre of the flan, rendered with columnar sides, a pediment surmounted by a cross, and a large X filling the interior of the structure, flanked by pellets. Below the temple base, a decorative foliate or floral ornament is visible. The surrounding legend reads AND ERN, an abbreviated reference to the mint city of Andernach. The architectural motif is characteristic of episcopal Rhenish coinage of the Salian period, conveying ecclesiastical authority through the depiction of a sacred building. |
