Obverse description Cruciform inscription arranged in the field, with the letters disposed in four quadrants around a central cross, a characteristic layout of Ottonian and Salian-era deniers. The legend references both the mint city of Andernach and Emperor Conrad II. The flan is irregular and the striking somewhat weak, typical of hammered coinage of this period. No figurative motif is present, the design relying entirely on the epigraphic arrangement.
