正面描述 Central field displays the Hungarian arms — a quartered shield incorporating the Árpád dynastic stripes and the patriarchal double cross — surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads MAT · II · D · G · HV · BO · REX · 1612, recording the regnal title of Matthias II as King of Hungary and Bohemia with the date 1612. The mint mark KB (for Körmöcbánya, i.e. Kremnica) appears in the lower portion of the field. The coin is struck in the irregular, slightly wavy flan characteristic of hammered piedfort production.

附加信息

Piedforts — coins struck at double or multiple thickness on standard-diameter flans — were almost never intended for circulation. Hungarian examples from this period were typically produced as presentation pieces or as official weight standards for assayers and mint officials verifying the correct planchet weight of the regular-issue deniers. Matthias II had only been recognized as King of Hungary since 1608, following his forced settlement with Rudolf II at the Peace of Lieben, which stripped Rudolf of his Hungarian crown.

The ÉH#866 attribution places this firmly among the rarer piedfort survivors of the type.
