Obverse description Stylized castle with three towers enclosed within a beaded inner circle, the central tower prominent and flanked by two lateral towers with crenellated battlements. The architectural device is rendered in the flat, schematic manner characteristic of medieval hammered coinage. A circular legend surrounds the inner beaded border. The overall composition is typical of Flemish feudal deniers of the late 12th to early 13th century.

Reverse description A short cross pattee centered within a beaded inner circle, with the arms extending nearly to the inner border. In each of the four angles formed by the cross arms, alternating globules and crescents are disposed symmetrically, a decorative device common to the feudal deniers of the Low Countries. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the inner beaded border, reading the title of the issuing authority.
