Reverse description A bold cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a decorative element — alternating pellets and annulets — in the traditional Barcelonese denier style. The quadrilobe cross design is deeply struck and well-centred relative to the irregular flan. A circular Latin legend surrounds the cross, incorporating the mint city name and the date. The overall design follows the long-established medieval type of the Barcelona denier, perpetuated throughout the reigns of successive Spanish monarchs.
