Obverse description Crowned bust of Philip III facing right, rendered in a crude hammered style typical of Catalan municipal coinage of the period. The royal effigy is shown with long hair beneath a simple crown, the portrait occupying the central field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, contained between an inner and outer beaded circle. The flan is irregular in shape, characteristic of hand-struck hammered coinage, with portions of the legend frequently weak or off-flan.
