Beschrijving voorzijde	Within a beaded border, the field displays the royal monogram composed of the letters R and F in bold, deeply struck Carolingian characters, flanked by pellets between them. A horizontal bar surmounts the design, topped by a small cross, forming the abbreviated royal title. The composition is bold and heraldic in character, typical of early Carolingian monetary reform coinage under Pepin the Short.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Within a beaded border, the mint name MAGONCE (Mainz) is rendered in three abbreviated lines: a cross-pattée above the letter D, followed by the letters MAG arranged prominently across the central field, and .C.S. below, separated by pellets. The bold, irregular Carolingian lettering fills the flan in a monumental style characteristic of early medieval hammered silver deniers.
