The lettering is deeply struck and occupies virtually the entire flan in the Carolingian denier tradition, with the cross functioning as a structural divider rather than a purely decorative element. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border, with the flan exhibiting the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck medieval silver coinage. |
