| Reverse description | A large pattee cross occupies the central field, its arms extending to an inner beaded circle, a hallmark design of the Parisis coinage type. The cross is boldly struck with flared terminals and a slightly concave center, consistent with mid-14th-century French hammered technique. The surrounding legend, separated by trefoil stops, reads PARISIVS CIVIS, identifying this coin as struck for the city of Paris. The outer border of the flan displays irregular dentilation typical of the hammered manufacturing process of the period. |
