| Reverse description | A pattée-style cross with splayed terminals dominates the central field, its four arms creating four quarters each containing a prominent pellet. Additional pellets are scattered in the field, and cursory linear elements at the periphery suggest a degenerate or pseudo-legend typical of late Merovingian issues. The design is crudely but vigorously struck on an irregular flan, with no coherent inscriptions visible, reflecting the transitional anonymous coinage of the early eighth century. |
