Ottokar I's first reign lasted barely a year. He was installed as Duke of Bohemia in 1192 through Hohenstaufen backing, then deposed in 1193 when Henry VI switched political support to his rival Jindřich Břetislav. Coinage attributable specifically to this window is exceptionally rare precisely because the opportunity to mint was so short.
Cach 657 remains the standard Czech numismatic reference for Přemyslid deniers, and attribution of pieces to this specific reign relies heavily on die analysis rather than documentary evidence.
