Otto V ruled Brandenburg jointly with his brothers under the Ascanian dynasty's habitual division of territorial authority — a political arrangement that makes attributing specific issues to individual margraves genuinely difficult. The Dann and Bahrfeldt references place this type firmly within his tenure, but the collaborative nature of Ascanian governance means the coin reflects institutional rather than personal authority.
