Obverse description A margrave seated facing on a curved or bow-shaped throne, depicted in full figure with a sword held diagonally upward over each shoulder, conveying martial authority. The figure is rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of late 13th-century German bracteate-influenced coinage.
