Obverse description Central field features a stylized cross with two circular annulets flanking the vertical shaft, forming a schematic face-like composition characteristic of Ottonian coinage. A horizontal bar crosses the upper portion of the cross, with a small downward-pointing element below. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The peripheral legend reads OTTO ✠ IMPERAT, separated by a cross pattée, running along the coin's outer margin in angular, hand-cut Latin characters typical of late 10th-century German hammered silver coinage.
