| Reverse description | Central voided long cross with two vertical lines extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing small pellets or annulets in the Anglo-Saxon style. The cross terminates at the beaded inner circle. The surrounding field bears a circumferential legend in uncial Latin letters naming the moneyer and mint, with the cross motif interrupted by the letters C - R - V - X, an invocation of the cross. The outer border is composed of a toothed or denticulated rim consistent with hammered Viking-Age coinage. |
