Obverse lettering + OLAFA REX ANCOL
Reverse description Central voided long cross with two vertical lines extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing small pellets or annulets in the Anglo-Saxon style. The cross terminates at the beaded inner circle. The surrounding field bears a circumferential legend in uncial Latin letters naming the moneyer and mint, with the cross motif interrupted by the letters C - R - V - X, an invocation of the cross. The outer border is composed of a toothed or denticulated rim consistent with hammered Viking-Age coinage.
