| 正面描述 | A plain cross with slightly splayed arms occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross divides the inner circle into four quadrants, each plain. A circular Latin legend surrounds the beaded border, reading the name and title of the issuing lord. The overall style is characteristic of early 11th-century feudal French hammered coinage, with irregular flan and bold if somewhat crude die-cutting. |

Odo I governed Déols during a period when the great lords of Berry operated with near-total monetary independence from the French crown — the Capetian kings were in no position to enforce otherwise. The lordship of Déols, centered on the town now absorbed into Châteauroux, was among the more prolific minor minting authorities of the region, and its issues circulated primarily within the local economy of the Indre valley rather than traveling far.
Boudeau 272 is not a rare type, but honest examples with full flans and legible inscriptions are harder to locate than the reference numbers suggest.
