| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain Latin cross with equal arms dominates the central field, enclosed within a beaded circle. The circular legend surrounding the beaded border identifies the mint place as the castle of Blois, rendered in angular Carolingian capital letterforms with characteristic lambda-shaped A forms. The cross is boldly struck and centrally placed, consistent with the Carolingian denier type issued at the Blois mint under Odo. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, as is typical of hammered coinage of this period. |
