| Reverse description | A short cross pattée occupies the center of the field, with a small ringlet or annulet in each of the four quarters formed by the arms of the cross. The surrounding circular legend names the moneyer responsible for the coin's production. The die engraving is bold but irregularly struck, consistent with hand-hammered coinage of the period. This type of reverse design, with cross pattée and corner annulets, is a standard formula for Brabantine deniers of the third quarter of the 11th century. |
