Obverse description Central field bears the Hungarian royal arms: a quartered shield displaying the Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross, surmounted by a small crown, with the date divided across the upper field flanking the shield. The mint mark letters appear to the left and right of the shield. The entire composition is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the legend running along the outer periphery in Latin majuscules on a hammered flan with an irregular, slightly wavy edge characteristic of the period.
