| 裏面の説明 | The Virgin Mary (Madonna), veiled and draped in flowing robes, is depicted seated and facing slightly left, holding the Christ Child in her right arm; the Infant Jesus reaches upward toward the Madonna in a tender gesture. The composition occupies the full inner field of the coin, with a mintmark divided on either side of the figures. The surrounding legend runs along the outer margin in uncial Latin lettering, identifying the Virgin as Patrona Hungariae, the heavenly patron of Hungary. The striking is bold in the central devices, consistent with hammered technique, and the irregular flan shows typical characteristics of late medieval Hungarian coinage. |
