Obverse description Bipartite shield displaying the arms of Hungary: the dexter half bears the traditional Hungarian barry of eight (alternating red and silver), while the sinister half displays the Hunyadi raven (crow) sejant holding a ring in its beak, the dynastic emblem of the Corvinus family. The shield is centrally placed within a beaded or linear inner circle, with the circumscribed Latin legend running along the periphery. The overall design is characteristic of late medieval Hungarian hammered coinage, with a somewhat irregular flan typical of the period.
