Reverse description A lozenge-shaped (diamond-oriented) shield bearing the arms of the city of Vic, placed centrally within an inner circle. A Latin legend surrounds the shield along the outer rim, incorporating the mint date. The die work is characteristic of the hammered municipal coinage struck at Vic during the French administration of Catalonia. The flan shows pronounced irregularity and surface porosity consistent with copper hammered coinage of this period.
