Obverse description Central cross pattée, the four cantons each containing a symbol: two omega letters, the letter S, and the letter T, arranged around the cross arms. The surrounding circular legend reads LODEVEI REX in debased Latin characters. The overall style is characteristic of early Capetian hammered coinage, with irregular flan and somewhat crude die-engraving typical of the period.
