| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Louis I facing right, rendered in a stylized Carolingian manner. The effigy displays a diademed head with simplified facial features characteristic of early 9th-century hammered coinage. The surrounding legend reads HLVDOVVICVS IMP AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is executed in low relief typical of Carolingian imperial deniers, showing the emperor in profile with a draped shoulder.
