Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Louis I facing right, rendered in a stylized Carolingian manner. The effigy displays a diademed head with simplified facial features characteristic of early 9th-century hammered coinage. The surrounding legend reads HLVDOVVICVS IMP AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is executed in low relief typical of Carolingian imperial deniers, showing the emperor in profile with a draped shoulder. The irregular flan results in portions of the legend occasionally weakly struck or off-flan.

Beschrijving keerzijde A stylized city gate or palatium motif depicted frontally at the center of the field, featuring a towered gateway with an arched portal, characteristic of Carolingian civic coinage referencing the mint city. The architectural device is rendered schematically in low relief, with two flanking towers and a central archway clearly distinguishable. The peripheral legend TARVISIVM identifies the mint city of Treviso, distributed around the circumference of the coin. The design follows the established Carolingian convention of representing mint towns through their principal architectural symbol. Weak areas of strike are present due to the hand-hammered production technique and irregular flan.
