| Beschrijving keerzijde | The entire reverse field is occupied by the mint name PARISII inscribed in a single bold horizontal line across the centre, identifying the Paris mint. The large, deeply struck capital letters nearly span the full diameter of the flan, with no additional decorative elements in the field. A beaded border runs along the rim, consistent with Carolingian denier coinage conventions. The plain, aniconic reverse reflects the standardised reform coinage introduced under the Carolingian monetary reorganisation. The flan shows the characteristic irregular roundness and slight edge irregularities typical of hand-hammered medieval silver coinage. |
