| Beschrijving keerzijde | Duke Ludwig (Louis I) is depicted enthroned facing, shown frontally in a formal, hieratic composition typical of medieval German feudal coinage. He is vested in ducal robes and holds a scepter in one hand and a banner or standard in the other, the two principal symbols of temporal authority. The figure is rendered in low relief with schematic facial features and stylized drapery folds, set against a plain field on the roughly struck, irregular flan. No legible legend is present, consistent with anonymous or minimally inscribed Bavarian pfennige of this period. |
