| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device depicts a stylized Carolingian temple or church facade with a triangular pediment supported by four columns, with a small crosslet visible within the intercolumniation, referencing the ecclesiastical authority of the Trier mint. The architectural motif is rendered in the flat, schematic style typical of mid-ninth-century Frankish coinage. The mint legend is arranged in Latin majuscules around the periphery of the flan, identifying the issuing city. The flan exhibits the same irregular, chipped profile as the obverse, with slight weakness of strike on the right side. |
