Reverse description The reverse displays the mint name TARVISIO (Treviso) in large, bold Carolingian capital letters arranged across the field in two lines, occupying most of the available space. The lettering is strongly struck but shows the characteristic irregularity of hand-hammered ninth-century dies. The flan edges are irregular and slightly ragged, typical of contemporary Carolingian silver deniers. No inner circle or additional decorative element frames the inscription, which fills the field in the manner standard for Carolingian mint-name reverses.
