Obverse description Facing or three-quarter bust of Bishop Lambert rendered in a schematic Romanesque style, turned to the right, holding a crozier whose staff crosses the beaded inner circle at the base of the design. The figure is depicted in episcopal vestments with strongly stylised drapery. The surrounding legend, executed in uncial characters, runs along the outer border of the flan. The overall die engraving is characteristic of the crude but expressive hammered coinage of the early twelfth-century Low Countries ecclesiastical mints.

Reverse description A cross pattée occupies the centre of the design, its four arms extending toward the inner circle, with the alternating letters S and T placed in each of the four quarters, referencing the dedication of the cathedral church of Saint-Tournai. The inner circle is reeded, providing a clear visual boundary between the central device and the outer legend. The surrounding inscription, in uncial lettering, identifies the monetary authority. The execution is typical of Romanesque ecclesiastical die-cutting, with bold, simply rendered letter forms.
