| Obverse description | Crude frontal effigy of the king occupies the central field, rendered in a highly stylized, primitive manner characteristic of 12th-century Hungarian hammered coinage. The face is depicted with schematic dot eyes and a heart-shaped outline, surmounted by a rudimentary crown with projecting elements. Primitive retrograde or debased Latin letters are arranged around the central effigy, forming a circular legend. The overall die-work reflects the archaic engraving style typical of the Árpád-dynasty deniers of this period. |
