正面描述 Crowned royal bust facing forward in the centre of the field, rendered in a crude but expressive medieval style typical of early fourteenth-century Polish hammered coinage. The crown is clearly delineated above the head, and the bust is flanked by rudimentary drapery details. A beaded inner circle frames the central effigy. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin characters reads +WLADISLAVS, identifying the issuing monarch Ladislaus I.

附加信息

Władysław I reunified a fragmented Poland after nearly a century of Piast dynastic division, and his 1320 coronation at Kraków — the first Polish royal coronation in that city, deliberately chosen over Gniezno to assert a new political geography — made this coinage among the earliest issues of a restored Polish kingdom. The Kraków mint had been active under regional princes, but its elevation to a royal mint under Władysław gave these small deniers an institutional weight their modest silver content belies.

Kop. 319 is a notoriously difficult attribution, with die variation across the type making clean assignments contentious among specialists.
