Obverse description Central device consisting of a stylized hand with fingers extended upward, rendered in low relief in the primitive Romanesque manner characteristic of early Polish coinage. Below the hand are two pellets arranged symmetrically in the field, flanking the base of the hand motif. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with no surrounding legend. The overall design is bold and schematic, consistent with hammered deniers of the Piast dynasty.
