Denier - Ladislaus I

Ladislaus I ruled Hungary during a period of chronic dynastic instability — his own claim to the throne came at the expense of his cousin Salomon, whom he displaced after years of intermittent civil war and Hungarian-German conflict. The papacy eventually sided with Ladislaus, and his canonization in 1192 made him Hungary's most venerated royal saint. These deniers circulated through a kingdom that was simultaneously consolidating Latin Christianity in the Carpathian Basin and absorbing Croatia following the 1091 campaign.
