| Obverse description | Central field features a plain cross pattée enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with small annulets (rings) placed in three of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross. The design is executed in a bold, flat relief characteristic of 13th-century feudal hammered coinage. The surrounding outer legend, rendered in uncial Latin characters, is separated from the inner circle by a plain annular border. The entire composition is typical of Ponthieu deniers of the Capetian period, with the cross serving as the dominant heraldic and religious motif. |
