| Obverse description | Central field bears a heraldic composition featuring a checky (chequered) pattern in the lower half, referencing the arms of Brittany, surmounted by an ermine-spotted motif in the upper half, all enclosed within an inner circle. A cross pattée divides the central design into quadrants, with a stylised letter Ո (Armenian-style N, representing John) appearing in the first (upper-left) quarter. The surrounding legend, separated by stars, runs clockwise between two concentric lines of dots forming an inner beaded border. |

| Reverse description | A bold, plain long cross extends to the inner beaded border, dividing the reverse field into four equal quadrants, each left plain. At the centre of the cross, a small central ornament is visible. The circumferential legend, interspersed with ornamental mullets (five-pointed stars) and crosslets, runs between a double beaded border, identifying the issuing authority as the Viscounty of Limoges. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered medieval billon coinage of the early fourteenth century. |
