| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a plain cross with a single pellet or dot placed in one of its quarters, a characteristic device of the Soissons comital coinage. The cross extends to the inner border, dividing the field into four quadrants. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the central motif, reading the count's name. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hammered medieval billon coinage of the 13th century. |
