Obverse description Crowned bust of James II facing left, depicted in profile with a beaded crown and stylized hair rendered in vertical strokes, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic flat, linear style of medieval Catalan hammered coinage. The royal legend runs continuously in the outer field between two concentric beaded circles, reading clockwise from the top.
