Obverse description Crowned royal bust facing left, rendered in the schematic style characteristic of medieval Catalan hammered coinage. The effigy is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the circular Latin legend occupying the annular field between the inner and outer beaded borders. The crown is depicted with prominent points above the monarch's head, and the facial features are rendered in a bold, stylized manner typical of 13th–14th century Iberian deniers.
