| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold Latin cross, its four quarters each occupied by a large raised pellet, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding marginal legend in Latin characters runs along the periphery of the irregular flan. The die work is characteristic of Ottonian hammered coinage, with strong, deeply struck relief on the central cross motif and pellets. |
