Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a small cross is positioned below a horizontal line, with a second horizontal line bisecting the lower third of the field, forming a distinctive two-bar arrangement. The overall design is characteristic of Carolingian-derived feudal coinage, with crude hammered execution typical of the period. The encircling legend reads in debased Latin majuscules around the periphery.
