| Opis rewersu | The reverse presents a bold, somewhat irregular inscription arranged across the field in multiple lines, reading the mint name in a highly stylized and compressed form typical of immobilized Ottonian deniers. The lettering is deeply struck but crudely executed, with individual letters showing the characteristic distortion of repeated die copying. The field is flat and largely unadorned save for the inscription itself. The legend references Cologne, reflecting the model prototype from which this Liège issue was ultimately derived. The coin's irregular flan boundary is clearly visible around the legend, consistent with the hammered production technique of the period. |
