| Beschrijving keerzijde | Degenerate and highly schematized representation of a church facade or building, a motif derived from the Cologne cathedral type. The architectural elements — nave, towers, and portal — are rendered in a severely abstracted manner, reduced to geometric forms and vertical strokes that retain only a vestigial resemblance to the original Cologne prototype. A central orb or pellet is visible at the base of the structure, and flanking elements suggest stylized towers or pilasters. The design is typical of imitative pfennig coinage struck far from the original issuing authority, where successive copying degraded the imagery into near-unrecognizable but conventionally understood forms. |
