背面描述	Central device consists of a cross pattée with slightly flared arms, centered within a beaded or linear inner circle, typical of early medieval feudal coinage of the Carolingian tradition. The cross divides the inner field into four quarters. The surrounding circular legend reads ✠ LVCVNS CIVITS, denoting the city of Lyon. The execution is crude and characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the mid-tenth century, with irregular flan and variable strike depth.
