| 表面の説明 | Central field occupied by a stylised royal monogram composed of interlaced letters within a beaded inner circle, the whole surrounded by a wreath or rope-like border. The monogram, typical of Carolingian and post-Carolingian Italian regal coinage, combines the initials of the two co-rulers in a cross-like arrangement. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner beaded circle and the irregular outer rim. The design is executed in the bold, somewhat crude relief characteristic of tenth-century hammered deniers struck at the Pavia mint. |
