| Descrizione del dritto | Central field occupied by the abbreviated ducal title HVCO DVX arranged around a small crosslet, the letters disposed irregularly across the flan in the characteristic Carolingian denier tradition. A circular beaded inner border encloses the central motif, with the circumferential legend reading CRΛTIΛ D-I DVX running around the periphery. The die-work is executed in a bold, slightly crude hammered style typical of late tenth-century feudal French minting. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan shape and uneven strike of contemporary hand-hammered silver issues. |
