Obverse description Frontal crowned effigy of Emperor Henry V shown enthroned in regal posture, holding a sceptre diagonally across the body in the right hand and a globus cruciger or orb in the left, rendered in the bold, stylised relief characteristic of early twelfth-century Germanic hammered coinage. The figure is depicted in high relief with a prominent crown bearing pendilia, wearing draped imperial robes. The surrounding field is plain, with the abbreviated Latin legend disposed around the periphery of the flan. The die-work is vigorous but irregular, consistent with the artisanal hammered technique of the period.

Reverse description Stylised architectural representation of a fortified gate or city wall, identifiable as a symbol of Dortmund, rendered in the bold and schematic manner typical of Salian-era pfennig coinage. The structure features a central arched gateway flanked by towers surmounted by globes or turrets, with additional globular ornaments disposed along the upper register of the design. The composition is enclosed within a beaded or pellet border, and the surrounding legend is partially legible around the irregular flan. The design serves as a civic emblem denoting the Dortmund mint authority.
