Additional information

Henry IV of Bavaria — later crowned Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor — held the duchy only briefly before his election as king in 1002 forced a reorganization of his territorial holdings. These deniers were struck in that narrow window between his assumption of the Bavarian duchy and the point at which imperial obligations reshaped the mint's output entirely.
