Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Emperor Henry III rendered in crude but expressive hammered style, with the crown depicted as a beaded or turreted structure atop the head. The effigy is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the imperial titulature legend distributed around the periphery of the flan. The facial features and regalia are schematically rendered, characteristic of mid-eleventh century German episcopal mint production.
