Henry III ruled the County of Görz during a period when the Görz line was steadily losing ground to the Habsburgs through a combination of inheritance disputes and political pressure. The Lienz mint, operating under comital authority in the Drau valley, produced small silver deniers as the county's independent coinage shrank in both geographic reach and economic relevance. By the time of Henry III's death in 1365, Habsburg encroachment had made autonomous Görz coinage increasingly precarious.
