Obverse description Central field features a heraldic shield bearing a rampant lion, the dynastic arms of the Counts of Görz, rendered in the Gothic style typical of mid-14th century Austrian feudal coinage. The shield is set against a plain field and enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend reads +HAINR` COMES GORICIE, identifying the issuing count, Henry III of Görz, in Latin uncial characters. The outer border is defined by a beaded or cable-pattern rim. The overall die work is characteristic of hammered provincial coinage of the period.
